Onomatopoeia
[The explanations on this website are those related to Visual Arts]
Onomatopoeia is the process by which the sound of a word, expression or action is imitated using images. The word used through imagery imitates the sound or noises made after an action, for example: “bang, oink, meow, roar, chirp, boom, pow, crack, poof and splash”.
( The word being used represents its own sound when it is heard, most times similar to how it is spelt).
